New Zealand skincare brand Apiora has launched a daily moisturiser on World Mānuka Honey Day.
The company’s debut product, Skin Restore, is manufactured domestically and formulated without artificial fragrances.
Founded by Auckland entrepreneur Nigel Wilson after personal experiences with dry, sensitive skin, the brand aims to combine regional ingredients like mānuka honey and kawakawa with lab-developed compounds such as Ceramide NP and panthenol.
“New Zealand has some extraordinary natural ingredients, but I didn’t want to create something that relied on the natural story alone,” said Wilson.
“I was interested in what happens when you combine ingredients such as mānuka honey and kawakawa with modern ingredients that support hydration and the skin barrier.”
The company says the moisturiser underwent consumer testing involving individuals with dry and sensitive skin conditions.
Pre-orders are open online through the company’s website, with initial orders scheduled to dispatch from late this month at a retail price of $49.95 for a 70g tube.
